Do
we have to pay for your services?
No. There is never a fee charged to an applicant for the services
we offer.
How
do I register with you?
Select Register
with Us and apply for the position of your choice.
Once you have registered, we will contact you to discuss your
qualifications.
What
is a Direct Hire?
Many applicants come to us with extensive experience and would
like to be hired directly by a client. We refer to these situations
as direct hire placements. With direct hire placements, our clients
have specific needs and may require several interviews or meetings
with you to determine if you are the appropriate match.
During
your time with our recruiters, please provide all information
that you feel is relevant in assisting us to make your job search
more comprehensive. Our clients rely on us to provide them with
qualified, experienced and professional candidates and we are
committed to making our placements successful. We look forward
to helping you manage your career.
Do
you only offer temporary positions?
No. Kent Legal offers temporary, temporary to direct hire, and
direct hire placement services. Please let us know which of these
types of opportunities you are interested in considering.
What
type of testing do I have to do?
That depends on the support position you are looking for. We have
computerized testing that includes typing, Microsoft Office, WordPerfect,
data entry, legal spelling, legal vocabulary and grammar. Our
testing is available through the Internet.
Do
you have direct deposit?
Yes, you are paid by direct deposit at the bank of your choice.
Simply provide us with a "void" cheque so we can be
sure to deposit your pay in the right bank account. We will mail
a deposit advice slip to you on a weekly basis.
Can
I work on a temporary basis while looking for direct hire placements?
Yes, let us know what type of work you are looking for. When we
send you on a temporary assignment, we will continue to search
for direct hire opportunities for you.
Do
you offer employee benefits while I work as a temporary worker?
Yes. We offer many benefits to our employees, some of which include:
vacation pay, holiday pay, referral bonus and direct deposit.
How
am I paid on temporary assignments?
You are paid an hourly wage agreed upon before the assignment
begins. During the assignment, you are considered an employee
of Kent Legal. You complete time sheets on line and are paid weekly
with the usual government deductions. Four percent holiday pay
is added to your weekly pay cheque.
Does
only the consultant I interview with use my resume?
No, Kent Legal recruiters work as a team. We share candidates
and clients and work together to find you a suitable position
as quickly as possible. We will keep you advised as to where we
are sending your resume.
Do
I need to send a cover letter to you with my resume?
It is not necessary; however, the more information we have about
your experience and your desired position and salary range, the
better.
Can
I be registered with more than one agency?
Yes, and please tell us if you are. We would like to know with
whom you are registered in order to avoid duplication.
What
information goes out on my resume?
Your resume and sent to clients with only your name and the Kent
Legal logo on it. We remove your contact information. This protects
your privacy and ensures that our clients know to communicate
through us when they want to book an interview with you.
How
does this work?
When you come in and register with Kent Legal, you will perform
skills testing, meet with one or more of our consultants and,
if we feel we have positions open that suit your particular skills,
we will discuss them with you right away. We want to ensure that
you are interested in the positions for which we have submitted
your resume. To that end, it is Kent Legals policy to always
call you and give you as much information about a position, including
the name of the firm, so that we can and obtain your agreement
before sending your resume. This ensures that it is a firm to
which you have not already been presented or one that you would
prefer not to work at. It also gives you an opportunity to do
some research about the firm before your interview. Clients are
always impressed when you know something about the firm before
the interview!
