Technology Leadership

We use leading-edge recruiting software that enhances our candidate selection process and improves our response time in getting the right candidates to you. We can email resumes, set appointments for interviews and send reference check information all through the Internet – but we also take the time to talk to you on the phone. Technology enables us, but it does not replace good old fashioned communication! This breakthrough technology lets us track the activity on your job order and share information amongst our recruiters so that you always get up-to-date information when you call.

Remote Time Entry System

Our Remote Time Entry System is an example of our technology leadership. Our clients can approve time for temporary employees on line! It is easy to use and there will be no more Friday morning line-ups at your doorway waiting for you to approve a paper timesheet. Best of all, if you have to leave the office early you can still approve the timesheets over the Internet from home. Services & Staffing Options

Kent Legal provides full service for our clients. They include Direct Hire, Temporary, and Temporary to Direct Hire placements.

Direct Hire Placements are our specialty. This option is available to clients who prefer to hire our candidate immediately and receive a 3 month Service Warranty. As our client, you pay an agreed upon one time fee and add the candidate directly to your payroll.

Temporary Assignments can vary from a minimum of 4 hours to a few days, weeks or months. Clients can source employees with a wide range of skills. We provide administrative, clerical, specific legal, human resource and management positions. Clients pay a single all-inclusive hourly rate and we take care of all standard employer responsibilities. Consider Kent Legal for you short term staffing needs, including:

Temp to Direct Hire Placements. Our clients can convert temporary employees currently on assignment to core positions at your firm following a waiting period, or in accordance with a quoted fee schedule. Selecting this service option provides the opportunity for you to assess employee performance and suitability to the position and your organization prior to making a hiring commitment. This service will benefit you and the temporary employee who is seeking long-term employment. As with temporary placements, candidates are interviewed, screened and tested; however, your desire for a direct position with your company or firm is additionally qualified prior to beginning an assignment.

Placement Fee and Service Warranty

In the rare event that a candidate placed by Kent Legal does not fit your needs, we offer a time limited warranty for all direct hire placements completed by our consultants. Our warranty enables our clients to replace the original direct hire with a new candidate should the original candidate not meet our client’s expectations during the first three (3) months of employment, provided that the fee for the original placement has been paid within twenty (20) days of the invoice date (start date). The 3 month warranty period is effective from the candidates scheduled start date. For example, a candidate scheduled to start on September 1 has a service warranty period that lasts until December 1.

Kent Legal’s service warranty will provide a candidate replacement on the same basis as the original placement. Finding the right candidate is our top priority. We commit the same effort to replacing a candidate as we do to the original placement. If we are unable to find a suitable replacement, our client is provided with a credit note for the full value of the original placement which can be used towards the next direct hire placement.

Our warranty expires after 3 months. There is no warranty for the replacement candidate, only the original placement.

Skills Testing

Kent Legal uses a revolutionary new testing system that evaluates a candidate to ensure that they have all the skills needed for a job through a fast, efficient and accurate assessment. In a fraction of the time used with traditional testing, we can determine if a candidate has the knowledge, skills and abilities to handle a job. Our state-of-the-art testing is also available over the Internet so applicants can complete their skills testing without having to come into our office which is particularly useful and convenient.

Our skill testing software provides powerful, customizable, performance-based testing, and knowledge-based tests on legal, clerical, professional and technology skills. We also can administer personality profiling tests at your request.

Our standard testing consists of Microsoft Office suite of products, including all versions of Access, Windows, and Outlook. We also test legal candidates on legal vocabulary, legal spelling, legal audio transcription, and legal typing. This is a standard service to you.

Our Testing Services

  • Standard Skills Testing: Our testing facilities are available for law firms and corporations who do not currently have in-house testing facilities. We offer any six tests (excluding personality profiling tests), for $350.00 per candidate. These tests can be administered easily by the candidate attending Kent Legal offices or over the Internet.
  • Personality Profiling Testing: Skills testing only tells you part of the story. Can the job candidates work well with others or work well without supervision? Are they reliable? Our behavioural assessments provide fast, effective analysis of individual attitudes and aptitudes. These tests have been optimized to provide the information you need on specific job attributes, with a minimum amount of time. We will administer three behavioural assessments at your request for a fee of $350.00 per candidate.
  • Bilingual Testing: Our National clients require bilingual staff and we can assess their bilingual skills.

At Kent Legal we can accommodate flexible and customized bilingual assessments.

Here are some of the assessments we can provide you with:

  • Casual written or/and oral French
  • Formal written or/and oral French
  • Business written or/and oral French
  • Technical written or/and oral French

Each assessment is made on the phone and via email by seasoned bilingual individual through a highly respected testing facility.

We can provide you with a written report or/and a simple grading.

REFERENCE CHECKING

Each applicant provides us with at least two professional references. We ask each reference to rank the applicant’s acceptance of criticism, attention to detail, communication skills, computer productivity, client contact skills, initiative, knowledge of job content, need for supervision, organizational skills, willingness to work overtime, productivity, and sense of urgency. We also question the applicant’s interaction with colleagues, attendance and punctuality and performance under pressure.

These results are summarized on a reference form and emailed or faxed to you for review. Concurrently, we also discuss the reference with you over the phone.
